Tylecodon cacalioides is found in Succulent Karoo mainly in the Little Karoo and northern foothills of the Swartberg in the Western Cape Province. Plants occur on hills and flats among other Karoo shrubs and succulents. Rainfall occurs in both winter and summer, and the amount randges from 200-300 mm (8-12 inches) per annum. Summer temperatures are very hot but the winters are moderate with light frost.
Currently growing in 3.5 inch container.
