Huernia macrocarpa v. cristata

$28.00

Huernia macrocarpa is a beautiful member of the Stapeliad tribe. In autumn it produces bell-shaped, often burgundy colored flowers with white hairs. This specimen demonstrates fasciation, a rare condition of abnormal growth in which the apical meristem  becomes elongated perpendicularly to the direction of growth, thus producing flattened, ribbon-like, crested, or elaborately contorted, tissue. A beautiful addition to any NYC collection.

Currently growing in a 2.5” terra-cotta pot.
